An Attempt at Poetry Jan. 19, 2022

So you think you make a great muse.

And why?

Because you danced in the mirror while I watched your body move?

Because you whispered silently how you loved me while we fucked?

Because you take me for who I am, and no one has ever done that?

So you think you make a great muse.

You think that, don’t you?

Simply because I am a painter, and you are not.

You think I should paint about you, talk about you, love you, breath you, paint you.

So you think you make a great muse.

You have always craved it,huh?

To have someone to love you so much they have no other option but dream about you every night.

Lucky for you, you found a painter.

And so, naturally, you want all my paintings to be about you.

You want my blood to flow with your name in mind.

You want my hands to move with your images in my heart.

And so you have  convinced yourself.

You think you make a great muse.

Can I be honest with you baby?

Can I tell you why you will never make for a great muse?

Read this again, and you will have your answer.
